Tools
The Gerber crucial multi tool features a wide range of tool that are put at your disposal. Firstly (and most importantly) it features a liner lock drop-point style knife which also features a serrated edge. This will cover all your cutting needs beautifully allowing you to not only slice with the fine razor sharp edge, but also cut and saw with the serrated edge. However as this blade isn’t that big, it isn’t going to be the best knife for the heavy duty jobs. I also found that when trying to use the knife some of he other tools got in the way and were slightly uncomfortable.
Next, there is the popular Gerber V-Cut wire cutters which chop through wire like it is hot butter. Next you have yourself a pair of pliers which you are actually able to get a fairly tight hold on, compared to some other multi-tools out there where you can barely grab anything with the pliers. Up next is the cross-head/phillips head screw driver which is conveniently placed at the end of one of the handles making it incredibly easy to screw and unscrew things in a flash. One of the more important features of the multi-tool up next is the bottle opener which ensures that if there is ever a nice cold beer lying around you are able to open it in a pinch and begin consuming that sweet nectar.
Next, the multi-tool features a medium flat head screw driver which perfectly compliments the cross-head nicely and allows you to easily take care all of the other style of screws out there. Lastly, it features a carabiner clip which allows this glorious tool to easily clip onto a belt buckle or a set of (although its a bit heavy for keys).
Verdict
Overall, The Gerber Crucial Multi-tool is incredibly useful and I am sure that you will be able to find a million uses for it. You are able to easily perform a wide variety of tasks that would normally take you up to 5 separate tools to perform, which just one glorious tool. Other then that, the tool actually looks pretty nice and feels quite comfortable in your hands. However, I wouldn’t recommend it to replace your everyday carry pocket knife but would rather suggest you use it as a compliment to it.
